We need ALL cyclists to show up at UH Downtown METRO train stop at 6:00 am on Monday 7/19 to take pictures in celebration of expanded bike hours on the train! METRO Board Member Christof Spieler will be there to meet us.
7/19/10 - METRO expands bicycle access on light rail, adding the time period from the beginning of the service day to 6:30 am on weekdays
2/11/10 - Citizens Regina Garcia, Aaron Chang and Peter Wang addressed the Transportation, Infrastructure, and Aviation Committee today, 2/11/10, at Houston City Hall
1/23/10 - No bike racks at stations in the University Corridor Final Environmental Impact Statement, Pages 11-98 and 11-99. "BP-3 METRO does not have sufficient right of way to provide racks and lockers for bicycles"
12/29/08 - Judge Emmett sends Peter Wang a personal email expressing disappointment that METRO has ordered rail cars without bicycle racks
7/27/08 - Bike access allowed to Red Line after 7 pm. METRO pledges to build bike racks at future train stations where space is available

2/28/08 - Woody & Peter met with Houston City Council Member Sue Lovell, Chair of Transportation Infrastructure and Aviation at her campaign fundraiser at Gravitas
2/14/08 - Councilmember Clutterbuck sends a letter to METRO arguing for bike racks about the light rail trains
1/30/08 - Formal Bike Racks on Trains study committee convened at METRO HQ
1/29/08 - BikeHouston Board of Directors sends letter critical of METRO's light rail bicycle policy to the FTA, and cc'd METRO, City, County, and Federal officials
1/23/08 - Houston Sierra Club newsletter urges the public to contact METRO in favor of bicycle access to light rail
1/17/08 - CEO Frank Wilson announces that a formal study will be done, and a decision made on the bikes on trains matter by the end of March 2008
